Under the direction of the Georgia Department of Labor as part of its Rehabilitation Services Division, Roosevelt Warm Springs features a caring work environment that is known as the "Spirit of Warm Springs." Since the early days of FDR, the Roosevelt Warm Springs Institute for Rehabilitation has supported a teaching atmosphere, where specific skills and competencies can be learned "first hand" through active mentorship from experienced professionals. This still exists through the Institute's Internship Programs. Utilizing a variety of treatment settings, interns from colleges across the country work with expert teams of caring, experienced professionals in a number of disciplines. Each intern's overall program is coordinated through the Roosevelt Warm Springs Institute for Rehabilitation Continuing Education Department. The Institute presently partners with more than 60 professional schools, both nationally and internationally. On-campus intern housing and meals are provided during the internship.
