For individuals who need some level of assistance in furthering their educational goals as part of their vocational rehabilitation, a full array of academic services is offered through an accredited school at the Roosevelt Warm Springs Institute for Rehabilitation. For individuals with medical needs that may require assistance or attention during their vocational rehabilitation, the Roosevelt Warm Springs Institute for Rehabilitation offers a full array of health management services. These services are provided in such a way as to increase the person's involvement in the management of their own healthcare needs. Nursing services are available 24/7 for health service assistance and education. In addition, a physician is available one day each week, as well as on call 24/7 daily for emergencies. For individuals with mental health and behavioral needs that may require assistance or attention during their vocational rehabilitation, the Roosevelt Warm Springs Institute for Rehabilitation offers a full array of behavioral health management services. Whether it is smoking cessation, stress management, assertiveness training, or assistance for persons taking psychotropic medication or in need of a medication evaluation, a team of licensed Psychologists, Behavioral Specialists and a Psychiatrist work with each individual to develop a customized program unique to their specific needs. Roosevelt Warm Springs Institute for Rehabilitation also offers a Traumatic Brain Injury Program, which includes cognitive therapy, adjustment groups, community re-entry, physical conditioning, interpersonal skills groups, family education, disability education, job coach assistance, study skills groups, neuropsychological testing, attention deficit/hyperactivity testing, and counseling.
The Roosevelt Warm Springs Institute for Rehabilitation believes in the mind, body and spirit, and there is an emphasis on personal fitness during vocational rehabilitation. This personal fitness involves both physical fitness and nutrition. Recreation therapy and exercise are emphasized throughout each person's vocational rehabilitation. In addition, a board certified Nutritionist provides education and oversees healthy eating to ensure a healthy lifestyle during each person's stay. There is a 160 bed dormitory that provides comfortable accommodations and staff coverage 24/7 every day.
